Reading and Writing: For the month of May we will continue to review and practice skills necessary for first grade.  We will also practice reading and writing with fluency and expression.  The high frequency words are yellow, blue, green, what, was ans said.  Also, don't forget to review your old high frequency words.

Religion: We will continue to learn about Jesus and begin to talk about God and how his love teaches us to love others. 

Math: We will continue to review addition and subtraction while beginning a chapter on money.

Science: We will finish our unit on water and begin our final unit about plants. 

Social Studies: We will study May holidays and events, as well as some US symbols.

 Reminders:

*Book reports are due on Wednesday, May 2nd.

*Practice phone numbers, addresses and birthdays.

*Please notify us if your student no longer has their gourd.  We will be doing a special project with our buddies.  If the gourd cannot be found, Breezy Gardens may have some still available, or your student may bring in a tissue box as a substitution.

5/14:  St. Julie Day-out of uniform wearing yellow or brown for one dollar (prayer service at 10:30)

5/18:  Jog-a-thon

5/25:  Memorial Day Service and Jeans Day

5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

5/31: In School Field Trip (Yuri Prince of Colors)

Kindergarten Graduation will be Tuesday, June 12th at 10:00 am.
